How We Connect

Just a touch of God’s divine presence inspires us to reach out and touch someone else. God created us with a need to belong; to become part of something greater than ourselves. What a thrill, before and after church services, to watch folks laughing together, fellowshipping and having fun, which is how lasting relationships are formed. Without realizing it, those once considered as mere friends, suddenly become family. And what do families do? They stick together, regardless of what happens. The best sign that a great church family is emerging is when folks are excited about just getting together and loving on each other!

And when that happens, the most natural response is to embrace the family’s mission and vision. Members Orientation Class was instituted for that very purpose. We want newcomers to explore what we stand for and to fully connect with this congregation. In a series of six classes, pastors and leaders help individuals determine their gifts, discover the purpose for which they were born, and develop their full potential. Once you understand who you are and what God meant for you to accomplish, we ask that you strengthen your gifts by committing to one or more ministries. You will never find a church home where your talents are more appreciated than right here!

To determine where you may fit best, here are some ways the C.T. family connects:

Student Ministry

It takes a host of willing workers to train our little ones. From Nursery to 12 year olds, the Children’s Pastor and a qualified team employs creative, interactive teaching methods to peak a child’s interest, such as: Discovery Camp, Talent Quest, Word-a-Thon, Vacation Bible School, Easter Egg Hunt, Back to School Rally, Christmas Musical, Young Disciples, Blossoming Angels, Youth Servants-in-Training, and several two-hour Children’s Churches every Sunday morning. JOY Ministries accommodates our special needs students, including the hearing and visually impaired.

For Middle and High School teens, a team of youthful pastors encourage personal development, leadership skills, and dynamic activities, such as: X-odus Sk8park, Bible studies, prayer team, praise singers and band, monthly Hip-Hop concert, Reformation Gener8ion, missions, drama, dance, ushers, greeters, and specialized training for media / sound / video technicians. “Fear Factor,” the current theme for a bi-monthly “Invite Night,” encourages members to invite school friends to a vibrant youth service, concluding with free food and prizes. A group of teens also serve in a powerful youth-mentoring-youth community outreach for at-risk students.

Adult Ministry

The Men’s Ministry trains and equips C.T. men to become godly leaders in the home, church, workplace, and community. “Band of Brothers” connects men by providing assistance to widows and single mothers. Special events include: prayer breakfasts, fishing trips, Father-Daughter Night Out, and Sunday morning classes at 8:00 and 10:00 a.m.

Women of Destiny meet periodically to fellowship and discuss issues of special concern for various stages of life. “Helping Hands,” a rapidly growing ministry, is impacting C.T. and the North Channel community by demonstrating the love of God to the elderly and those suffering from long term illness.

Weekly meetings for Global Force Young Adults are designed to dominate and reclaim authority, both in the spiritual and physical realm.

Personal Care

Numerous ministries have been designed to assist members of our congregation who need support or encouragement. A 24-hour Prayer Line is a tremendous blessing when an unexpected situation or emergency occurs. When the death of an immediate family member is reported to our church office, a trained team offers comfort, hope, and healing with cards and supportive phone calls.
