Tuesday, September 25th:
Psalm 85:6 (NKJV) – “Will you not revive us again, That your people may rejoice in you?”
***Prayer: Father, during this season of prayer and fasting, I am asking You to revive me again. Set my heart on fire for You, Lord, and let me burn with a zeal that is pure and fervent. Let my soul long for You above every passion in this life. Cause me to yearn for You with the deepest longing and then make me even hungrier still. I want to desire You, and long for You, and know You better.
As I grow more passionate for You, others will see and want to know why I’m so deeply in love with You. They will begin to hunger for You and seek for the same fulfillment that I’ve found. As people are drawn to You, Lord, use me to speak to them and bring them into Your family. Send revival, Father, and let it begin in me! Revive Your people again!
Wednesday, September 26th:
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) – “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
***Prayer: Lord, we are Your people and belong only to You. In this time of prayer and consecration, I humble myself before You, the righteous God of all the earth. I have no righteousness of my own. Forgive my sins and selfish desires. Forgive me when I stray from Your paths. Turn my heart toward You. Heal our land and unite those areas where Your people are divided. Unite our nation and heal what has been broken in this great country.
Father, help us to embrace Your Word and teachings with our whole hearts. Pour Your favor upon us in such a way that others will clearly see the difference that You alone can make in our lives.
Thursday, September 27th:
John 3:16 (NKJV) – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
***Prayer: Lord, I thank You for Your incredible, endless love! Your love for humanity is beyond our ability to comprehend. Your heart is broken when we stray away from You. You hurt so much, You gave the dearest thing in all of heaven to save us. Sending Your Son to earth is Your statement of our great worth to You.
Inspire Your people to become bold, living witnesses of Your love. Help us to feel Your same passion for the unsaved in our world. I pray that Your Spirit will touch the hearts of those who still do not know You. Cause them to respond to our witness with a growing, insatiable hunger for You. Would You penetrate their minds with dreams and visions of their emptiness and how little the world has to offer. Save them, Lord!
Friday, September 28th:
Psalm 2:8 (NKJV) – “Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.”
***Prayer: Today, I ask You for the nations. I ask You to send revival to the unreached population of our earth. Let Your Word go forth to every village, every town, every city, and every nation.
Father, I pray that You will raise up missionaries and leaders all over the world who will carry Your Gospel to those who have never heard about salvation. Bless those who carry your Gospel to the lost. Provide the finances and resources for them to fulfill Your divine purposes. Let Thy Kingdom come, I pray!
Saturday, September 29th:
Joel 2:28-29 (NKJV) – “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”
***Prayer: Lord, Your Word speaks of a divine outpouring and sovereign move of Your Holy Spirit. We cannot make this happen—but You can! Pour out Your Spirit upon ALL flesh all over the world, from the north to the south, and the east to the west. May multitudes of people experience a divine encounter with Your Spirit in every nation.
I pray that You will push back the spirit of darkness that blinds people to the wonder of Your divine presence. You are more than amazing! You are more than wonderful! Let them behold Your beauty and majesty. Cause them to come and surrender their lives to You!
Sunday, September 30th:
Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV) – “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
***Prayer: Lord, this is the only prayer request You have ever made in scripture. With 7 1/2 BILLION people in our world, the need is so great. So many do not know You and multitudes have never even heard the name of Jesus. But how can they know unless someone tells them!
Would You call laborers to reap this great harvest? Would You so completely capture our hearts, we will be thrilled to become Your evangelists! Raise up pastors, assistant pastors, volunteers, ministry leaders, missionaries, worship leaders, musicians, teachers, and—givers! Cause each one of us to be so committed, we will gladly fulfill Your Great Commission by sending missionaries, building churches, helping the poor and the hurting—and whatever our hands find to do. Oh Lord, let me be a laborer in this mighty harvest!
Monday, October 1st:
Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV) – “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
***Prayer: Almighty God, we know that this is Your “Great Co-mission” to the church. It is the mission You have asked believers to obey. We are so privileged to become partners with You as we take this message all over the world. The Great Commission is something in which I can participate. It is a call to every church and every member in that church. Let our hearts so overflow with Your love and goodness, those around us will want to know You.
But more than this, Father, we ask that every congregation will be a “missions” church and every believer will be committed and passionate about missions. I’m so thankful that I belong to a “mission-minded” church. Thank You for the many thousands who have been touched by Your Spirit and the thousands of churches that have been planted by the generous giving of our church family.
You said that if we will only embrace Your call and obey Your commands, You would be with us until the end of the world. Today I accept that call and say, “YES” to You. Use us, Lord, for Your glory. Use me to save the lost!
Fasting is the act of eating sparingly or abstaining from certain foods. It can also mean abstaining from all food and drinking only water.
Fasting can break the hold our human weaknesses have over us and help our spirit man to become stronger. It can also assist us develop a greater ability to hear from God. Many breakthroughs have occurred when God’s people have fasted and prayed.
At Christian Tabernacle, we have experienced some of our greatest miracles by fasting and praying as a church family. Fasting can confuse the enemy and stop him in his tracks! Jesus even declared that some demonic spirits will not be conquered UNTIL we pray and fast (Matthew 17:21).
When Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days, He ate no food at all. But in Daniel 10:2-3, the Bible says that Daniel fasted and prayed for 21 days as he sought God. During this time he ate no “pleasant bread” or meat and drank no wine. However, He did not stop eating. The demands of his position in the Persian government required that he perform his duties effectively and with competence.
This teaches us that fasting can be done in several ways. You can choose not to eat at all for a short period of time or simply skip a meal each day. Some may choose to miss one meal a day for the entire 30 days. Or you could skip all meals for one or two days a week.
Some may have a physical condition that prevents them from fasting. Or certain medications may require you to eat. The good news is, there is more than one way to fast.
Since the purpose of fasting is to deny the flesh from becoming our master, in addition to missing meals, some choose to eliminate TV or something they really enjoy. Or you could severely reduce the amount of time spent on social media. Since I’ve always loved sweets, one of my most effective fasts was to eat no sweets for 30 days. It changed my life!
Let’s expect God to do incredible things as we draw near to Him during this 30 day season of prayer and fasting as a church family. This is our year to be FULL!
Blessings and favor in abundance,
(Pregnant women or those under a physician's care should first seek medical approval before fasting).
