Scriptures and Prayer: Pray For Revival And The Unsaved

Monday, January 14th:

Psalm 85:6 (NKJV) – “Will you not revive us again, That your people may rejoice in you?”

***Prayer: Father, during this season of prayer and fasting, I am asking You to revive me again. Set my heart on fire for You, Lord, and let me burn with a zeal that is pure and fervent. Let my soul long for You above every passion in this life. Cause me to yearn for You with the deepest longing and then make me even hungrier still. I want to want You. I need to know You more.

When I am passionate for You, others will see and will desire to know why I care for you so fervently. They too will want to know You that they also may experience the fulfillment that I have found. Draw people to You Lord, and use me to bring them into Your family. Send Revival, Father and let it begin in me! Revive Your people again.

Tuesday, January 15th:

2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) – “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

***Prayer: Lord, we are Your people and we belong only to You. In this time of consecration and prayer, I humble myself before You. You are the righteous God of all the earth. We have no righteousness of our own. Forgive us of our sins and of our selfish desires. Forgive me where I have strayed from Your paths. Turn our hearts to You. Heal our land and unite us where we have been divided. Unite this nation, and heal what is broken in this great country.

Father, cause us to embrace Your Word and Your teachings with our whole hearts. Let Favor be poured out upon us in such a way that others will see the difference that You alone can make in someone’s life and draw them to You.

Wednesday, January 16th:

John 3:16 (NKJV) – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

***Prayer: Lord, I thank you for the incredible, endless love You have for us! You love all of humanity with a love that is beyond our ability to comprehend it. It breaks Your heart to see any of us lost without You. You hurt for the lost so much that You gave the dearest thing in all of heaven to save us. That is Your statement on how much we are worth to You.

Cause Your people to become bold and living witnesses of Your love. Help us to feel the passion in Your heart for the unsaved world around us. I pray today that You will touch the hearts of those who do not yet know You. Cause them to respond to our witness and have within their hearts a growing and insatiable hunger for You. Give the lost dreams and visions, penetrate their thoughts and help them see the emptiness of the things this world has to offer. Save them, Lord!

Thursday, January 17th:

Psalm 2:8 (NKJV) – “Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.”

***Prayer: Today, I ask You for the nations. I ask You to send revival to the unreached population of our earth. Let Your Word go forth to every village, every town, every city, and every nation.

Father God, I pray today, that You will raise up missionaries and leaders all around the world who will carry Your Gospel to the unsaved. Bless those who carry your Gospel to the lost. Provide the finances and resources they need to fulfill Your divine purposes. Let Thy Kingdom come, I pray!

Friday, January 18th:

Joel 2:28-29 (NKJV) – “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. [29] And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days.”

***Prayer: Lord, these verses speak of a divine outpouring and of a sovereign move of Your Holy Spirit. We cannot make this happen but You can. Cause it to take place all around the world. Pour out Your Spirit upon ALL flesh, from the north to the south, and from the east to the west. Cause humanity to have divine encounters with Your Spirit across the world.

I pray that You will push back the spirits of darkness that blind people to how wonderful You really are. You are more than amazing! You are more than wonderful! Let people see You in Your beauty and majesty. Cause them to come to You in and surrender their lives to You!

Saturday, January 19th:

Matthew 9:37-38 (NKJV) – “Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. [38] Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

***Prayer: Lord, this is the only prayer request the scripture records you ever having made. The need is so great. There are 7 1/2 BILLION people in the world. Many of them do not know You. Many of them have never even heard the name of Jesus. But how can they know without someone to tell them?

Raise up laborers who will reap this great harvest for Your glory. Raise up those who will give their lives and hearts to You so completely they will live for Your great cause of Evangelism. Raise up pastors, assistant pastors, helpers, ministry leaders, missionaries, worship leaders, musicians, teachers, and Lord - raise up givers. Cause Your people to become as committed as we should be, so we will find Your Great Commission and send missionaries, build churches and help the poor and hurting.

Sunday, January 20th:

Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV) – “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. [19] Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.

***Prayer: Almighty God, we know that this is Your “Great Co-mmission” to the church. It is the mission You have asked believers to obey. We are so privileged to become partners with You as we take this message all over the world. The Great Commission is something in which I can participate. It is a call to every church and every member in that church. Let our hearts so overflow with Your love and goodness, those around us will want to know You.

But more than this, Father, we ask that every congregation will be a “missions” church and every believer will be committed and passionate about missions. I’m so thankful that I belong to a “mission-minded” church. Thank You for the many thousands who have been touched by Your Spirit and the thousands of churches that have been planted by the generous giving of our church family.

You said that if we will only embrace Your call and obey Your commands, You would be with us until the end of the world. Today I accept that call and say, “YES” to You. Use us, Lord, for Your glory. Use me to save the lost!

Ways to Fast

Fasting is the act of eating sparingly or abstaining from certain foods. It can also mean abstaining from all food and drinking only water.

Fasting can break the hold our human weaknesses have over us and help our spirit man to become stronger. It can also assist us develop a greater ability to hear from God. Many breakthroughs have occurred when God’s people have fasted and prayed.

At Christian Tabernacle, we have experienced some of our greatest miracles by fasting and praying as a church family. Fasting can confuse the enemy and stop him in his tracks! Jesus even declared that some demonic spirits will not be conquered UNTIL we pray and fast (Matthew 17:21).

When Jesus fasted in the wilderness for 40 days, He ate no food at all. But in Daniel 10:2-3, the Bible says that Daniel fasted and prayed for 21 days as he sought God. During this time he ate no “pleasant bread” or meat and drank no wine. However, He did not stop eating. The demands of his position in the Persian government required that he perform his duties effectively and with competence.

This teaches us that fasting can be done in several ways. You can choose not to eat at all for a short period of time or simply skip a meal each day. Some may choose to miss one meal a day for the entire 30 days. Or you could skip all meals for one or two days a week.

Some may have a physical condition that prevents them from fasting. Or certain medications may require you to eat. The good news is, there is more than one way to fast.

Since the purpose of fasting is to deny the flesh from becoming our master, in addition to missing meals, some choose to eliminate TV or something they really enjoy. Or you could severely reduce the amount of time spent on social media. Since I’ve always loved sweets, one of my most effective fasts was to eat no sweets for 30 days. It changed my life!

Let’s expect God to do incredible things as we draw near to Him during this 30 day season of prayer and fasting as a church family. This is our year to be FULL!

Blessings and favor in abundance,

(Pregnant women or those under a physician's care should first seek medical approval before fasting).
