Who is Jesus?
Nothing could be more essential or satisfying than knowing Jesus. If you discover any benefits at all from exploring this website . . . know Jesus! Become familiar with who He is and what He has done for you. Please take the time to read and consider our best description of Him.
Jesus of Nazareth . . . would you like a personal introduction?
In just thirty-three years, this one Man assumed more roles, earned more titles, and accomplished more tremendous victories than any other person. Because of an astonishing outdoor sermon He delivered two thousand years ago, He will forever be lauded as a remarkable orator. Or consider the magnitude of His miracles . . . healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, causing the lame to walk and leap, and even raising the dead.
But sad to say, His reputation was not flawless. Some judged Him as a worthless troublemaker. His scathing criticisms of their hypocrisy disrupted the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Yet simultaneously, throngs of society’s poor and outcasts adored Him.
It was no accident that He was crucified on a Roman cross with the inscription, “King of the Jews.” The Father specifically assigned Him to become the sacrificial Lamb of God who would die for our sins and disobedience—and endure God’s bitter wrath.
Thankfully, the story does not end there. After three days in the grave, God not only raised Him from the dead, but exalted Him to rule in heaven and on earth. To those who believe and accept this saving message, Jesus promised that His Spirit would abide in their hearts.
As the Jewish Messiah, Christ fulfilled dozens of prophecies in the Old Testament concerning God’s promises to Israel. The divine Son of God, in human flesh, died to save each of us from eternal punishment for disobeying His laws. The Bible refers to this beautiful message of salvation as the Gospel (Good News).
By choosing to believe this incredible story of God’s love and undeserved favor, we can enter into a relationship beyond our wildest imagination. You might call this association a “two-way” plan, satisfaction guaranteed!
- He finds pleasure when we honor, praise, and spend time with Him.
- We find pleasure when His Spirit floods our souls with joy, peace, and contentment.
Both publicly and personally we can show the world how beautiful and valuable He is. Experiencing joy in Jesus is one of the greatest privileges offered to mankind!
And it’s such a simple plan. Spend quality time with Him. Read and study His Word. Seek to intimately know His heart, His thoughts, and His mind. If you “delight yourself in the Lord, He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4).
The universal desire to be happy was God’s idea. The problem is, as C.S. Lewis wrote, “We settle for mud pies in the slums because we cannot imagine what a holiday at the sea is like.” Those who discover the joy of knowing Jesus, find that He is the holiday at the sea. At Christian Tabernacle, we delight in helping folks make that discovery.
Jesus Christ is the “door,” the ultimate joy of living. Why not open that door . . . and step inside!
